Weekend Recap

I rarely post about anything besides pregnancy updates, but I thought I would do a weekend recap because we are quickly running out of weekends with just the 2 of us, and I'm sure as soon as the baby is here we will be wondering what we did before.

So, Friday was Homecoming at school. After a crazy week (and the parade), I came home to find Brian napping then we got ready and his mom came over. We took her to Red Lobster for her birthday. I did something I never do and finished my whole plate...plus the salad and about 5 biscuits. That could be why I have gained 5 pounds in the matter of 2 days...yes I somehow managed that.

After we ate, we came back home to drop her off at her car then Brian and I headed back to Fort Smith. We met some of his friends at a place called Brannons to watch Terri and the Executives play. It was a fun night. By the time we got home, I was pretty exhausted and went straight to bed.

Saturday morning, we got up and had coffee and cinnamon rolls while we watched COLLEGE GAME DAY then headed to Booneville for Anson's soccer game. After the game, I dropped Brian off at his mom's while my mom and I did some baby shopping at 2nd Street Market. We came home later and did all of our grocery shopping for the week then snacked on junk food while we watched the HOGS play A&M a much better game than we had expected. We always went to this game when they played in Dallas and were supposed to go this week, but backed out last week after we got beat by the Rutgers. That may sound bad, but Brian gets so mad when we lose that he probably shouldn't be in public. :) And luckily, it ended up raining so we were glad that we decided to watch it from the comfort of our home. Plus, I had my 1st truly uncomfortable day that day. I don't know if the baby was in a weird position or what, but I was unusually uncomfortable.
After the game, we watched the movie "42" that we had picked up at the RedBox earlier. And surprisingly, I made it through the whole thing without falling asleep. :)

Sunday morning, we got up and had our usual biscuits, gravy, and coffee on the couch while Brian watched Fantasy Football stuff. As much as I love college football, I know nothing about the NFL nor do I care to know about it. The rest of the day was spent cleaning, catching up on laundry, and ironing clothes for the week. Just for the record, our weekly laundry consists of 4 loads every Sunday right now. I am curious to see how that will change.

We then went out for a Sunday drive which we do most Sundays. We like to drive down what country roads we have found here, and today we also drove by the babysitter's house hoping to catch a glimpse of her outside. We were unsuccessful. Now we are home waiting for the series finale of Breaking Bad. Most of our excitement currently revolves around food and TV.

For the most part, this is what a typical weekend currently looks like for us. I am very curious to see how different that will be soon. We only have approximately 11 weekends left before Cade is here with us...depending on when he chooses to make his arrival! :) I cannot wait to see how our lives are different once he is here.

27 Weeks

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Size of Baby: Head of Cauliflower or 2 pounds

Weight Gain: +11...I said 13 last week but it is actually 11 and hasn't changed this week. I had a slight case of pregnancy brain when I said 13.

Maternity Clothes: Still mixing, mostly maternity

Gender: Boy

Movement: Yes! And I still love it! I'm dying to feel my first set of hiccups.

Sleep: I had 2 rough nights this week, but mostly good.

What I Miss: Nothing

Cravings: MINT OREOS with ice cold milk. I have finally laid off the ice cream a little. New this week: Ice, Grapes, and cheese. At least those are all healthier than my ice cream/OREO binges.

Best Moment This Week: I have several:
-Finishing up my 2nd trimester! I can't believe that I am now in the 3rd. I think about the baby being here all the time and can't wait. We are in the home stretch! :)
-Getting more gifts from Vicki and my mom and Britney. I will have to post what all we have soon! Our collection is growing.
-Getting the crib! It isn't put together yet because they sent us 2 of the same sides, but it is here!
-Eating Red Lobster with Brian and his mom for her birthday! I didn't realize how much I was wanting some crab legs and cheddar biscuits until I had them.
-And just spending time with Brian. From lazy nights on the couch to little dates, I am enjoying it all. It is really starting to hit me that it won't just be the 2 of us any more very soon. And that these little things that we are so used to will become a rare treat.

26 Weeks

How Far Along: 26 weeks. Technically I hit 27 today, but I've been a major picture slacker.

Size of Baby: Rutabaga whatever that is...or 1.75 pounds

Weight Gain: +13

Maternity Clothes: Still mixing, the skin tight yoga pants and old shirt I am wearing in the picture are obviously not maternity. Non-maternity clothes are getting less comfortable by the day.

Gender: Boy

Movement: All the time. He's a little wild man.

Sleep: Wonderful. I have been way to tired for it to be anything but amazing.

What I Miss: Nothing currently. Although this is the first week I have noticed the belly tending to get in my way from time to time.

Cravings: Ice cream and OREOS. That is literally all I ever want. I pretty much have to force myself to eat anything else. But I want to eat all of the time.

Best Moment This Week: Being told I am finally looking pregnant. I've thought I have for a while now, but other people still say things about me being small or not looking pregnant. And PAINTING THE ROOM of course! Cade won't be sleeping there for a while, but it's painted! :)

My due date is exactly 3 months from today. I know technically the due date doesn't mean much because he could come whenever he chooses, but I cannot believe how close we are getting. I realized earlier that we have 12 more weekends after this one...possibly less...before we are parents. Crazy. But I cannot wait!

Bump Recap

So, I have hit the single digits until my due date! Whoo! And since I am at 25 weeks, and finally being told that I am growing some, I thought it would be fun to look back at all the weekly bump pictures. The 12-18 weeks make me laugh because it was all over the place. I think what I thought was a bump was just bloating! However, there is definitely a real bump there now. So here is a recap:

25 Weeks

How Far Along: 25 Weeks, 3 days

Size of Baby: Rutabaga (whatever that is) or 1.5 pounds and 13 in long

Weight Gain: +11

Maternity Clothes: Still mixing

Gender: Boy

Movement: Yes. And the times of day he moves are becoming more set and steady. I can now tell when he is awake or not. I love feeling him!

Sleep: Decent. I occasionally wake up in a complete panic over things we need to do which is completely understandable considering that up until today we had yet to buy a single thing for the baby still. And yes, we are running out of time. We will get it all done eventually. I've always been a procrastinator but also a major planner which makes for an odd combination.

What I Miss: Nothing.

Cravings: Ice cream. Anything sweet. And cold. And also mint chocolate stuff. I might have bought some mint Oreos today and tore into them before I made it out of the parking lot. After already eating my weight in ice cream before going to the store.

Best Moment This Week: My doctor's appointment today. Even though I had the glucose test, it wasn't bad. Now just crossing my fingers I pass. Brian got to go with me today. He doesn't go to every appointment since they are usually quick and during the day and we hate for him to lose hours at work. But he went with me today and it was the first time he has heard the heart beat since the day we found out that we are having a boy so that's always fun. It was strong and steady at 156!
Oh and my appointments are every 3 weeks for the next 2 then every 2 then every 1. That makes me feel like we are getting so close!

Looking Forward To: Cooler weather! The heat is killing me. And getting the nursery together. And my shower which is coming up next month! (Thanks Cora) :)

And on another note, I mentioned we bought our first baby related item today: The breast pump. Now I can mark one item off of my to do list that is about 7 pages long.

Also, I get told on a daily basis that I am not big enough or I need to gain more weight or "I was so much bigger than you at that point." Literally on a daily basis. So finally today I asked my doctor how I am measuring and he said I am right on track and measuring perfectly. So that put my mind at ease.
The fact that I feel/see the baby moving so much makes me feel better usually but I still worry when I am CONSTANTLY hearing that I am not big enough. Then we laughed tonight after my ice cream/OREO binge because I looked huge and we thought Dr. Bell probably thought I was crazy for thinking I might be too small. Haha. However, I did go to the lab immediately after seeing him and the lady taking my blood said "You don't look big enough to be having this test yet." Seriously, I never stop getting told that. But the way I eat ice cream, I should be gaining more soon. Then I will probably be told I am too big. Ahhh pregnancy and the weight comments. :)

24 Weeks

Excuse how I look in this picture.
It was a Friday afternoon after a night of
no sleep and a long week with 1st graders.
EXHAUSTED is an understatement.

How Far Along: 24 weeks, 7 days. Ok technically I am 25 weeks today but I forgot to take a picture any time this week.

Size of Baby: Ear of corn or 1.25 lbs

Weight Gain: +9

Maternity Clothes: Still mixing

Gender: Boy

Movement: Yes. A lot.

Sleep: Decent

What I Miss: Certain beverages

Cravings: Ice cream..any kind. All day. Everyday.

Best Moment This Week: Just feeling him move steadily. He kicked like crazy through the whole Hog game. He's definitely takes after his dad...and Poppy...and maybe me. :)

Looking Forward To: I would say my doctor's appointment but I have my glucose test so not so much. But still hearing his heartbeat always makes me happy.

New Floors

So we have been spoiled and didn't realize it. This is the 3rd house we have lived in in the 2 years we have been married, and it was the 1st one that had carpet in the living room. We had no idea how awful carpet was. I hated it. We eat in the living room every night right in front of our TV like a true American family. :) But keeping the carpet clean was not fun. We have lived here 6 months now and have wanted rid of the carpet since we moved in. My dad and Brian worked hard all of last weekend, and we are now carpet free! We only have carpet in our bedroom now. We have to get a few more boxes of wood so there is currently still carpet in the other extra room, but here are the pictures of the almost finished rooms. (We still have to get that wood trim stuff...I obviously have no idea what it is called...to go around the fire place.)
Ignore the random stuff on top of my fireplace. We are about to mount our TV there so it is currently just a mess.

Empty soon to be nursery

Another view of the nursery

And one last one
There are several shots of the nursery because I also wanted to use those as our before pictures for once we decorate it. I wish I would have gotten before pictures with the carpet, but it was all gone by the time I got home the Friday they started, and it didn't cross my mind before.
