Busy Mom's Milestones in a Nutshell

So I've been busy. I have a mobile baby who keeps me on my TOES! He is almost 9 months old and I haven't blogged since he turned 6 months. I don't keep a baby book for whatever reason so I use this instead. I have to document some milestones even if I am behind.

So what has Cade been up to??
Eating baby food-5 Months
Sitting up-5 Months
Pulling up-the day he turned 6 months
Crawling-7 Months
1st big boy bath-7 Months...and he loves it!

Currently at 8 months, he is just being a wild man. He opens cabinets, tries to climb on things, loves to attempt to stand without holding on to anything, and LOVES his baths. His favorite thing to do in the bath is pull up on the side, let go and fall backwards (usually onto his butt). He keeps us laughing every day and has recently learned his new favorite trick-CLAPPING. He has a new babysitter (our neighbor) who he loves. And there are his new milestones in a nutshell!

I would love to add pictures, but that takes time and I have things to get done before the little monster wakes from his nap. :)

6 Months

Cade is 6 months old today!! Or in other words...1/2 a year! How that is possible I have no idea!! But he is at such a fun age! Every day seems to be a new discovery and I am sitting here typing this as I try to fight his little curious hands off of the keyboard...and I wouldn't have it any other way! I love his little curious mind right now. So what has he been up to this last month? A lot.
We had his doctor's appointment today and here are his current stats:
Weight: 15 lbs, 7 oz
Height: 25 1/2 in
He's a fairly little guy but he's a healthy little guy!

This is how I currently get to straighten my hair...with him using anything and everything as a drum in the sink:
He is highly mobile...not exactly "crawling" yet, but he has mastered the SCOOT so we pulled out the pack-n-play this weekend and after much trouble, finally got it up! He loves it.
Also on the list of things he loves: being outside. Here he is hanging out while we sealed the deck last weekend:
And he got himself a new pool!
He tried a restaurant high chair for the first time this month. He is still a little small but he loved it!
And he lounged in his pool a little!

He learned to sit!
And to crawl out of his Rock-n-Play!
We named his favorite stuffed animal! Our little rabbit that he loves to sleep with is now known as Pete.
And he is getting teeth! None have broke through yet but he has 2 on the bottom that are trying to come in...and we are ready for them to break through! My sweet easy happy baby has disappeared a little recently, but I know he will be back soon! :)
And he loves to talk to his! He jibber jabbers constantly and laughs and smiles all the time! He is such a fun baby! I cannot believe we are halfway to his 1st birthday!!

5 Months

For our 5 month picture Cade was more interested in the sign than taking a picture! 5 months was around the time he really started noticing things around him and this picture captures that! He has gotten so fun and I do not remember exactly when he learned each new thing, but it seems like everyday was something new around this time up until now....and I know that will continue!
May 17, 2014
Cade went to 2 graduations this month! And he was great at both! Here he is watching big cousins Colten and Mason graduate. And the week before he went to Weston's graduation at Tech with my parents.
Speaking of him going with my parents, Brian and I did something BIG this month. We left Cade for the 1st time overnight and headed to Texas. And we scheduled it before we realized that it was on Mother's Day weekend, but we survived and had so much fun! It helps knowing that Cade is in such good hands. A little side note on our trip: We left Saturday morning (my parents were nice enough to come to our house and pick Cade up for us) and went to the Rangers game Saturday night. Then we went to a restaurant/bar behind our hotel after the game. Sunday morning we got up and spent too much time in IKEA. Neither of us had ever been and I fell in love with it! Such a neat place!! We bought a few things for our house and then headed home to see our sweet boy!! Not without stopping at Cheesecake Factory and for a 2nd trip to IN-N-OUT first though! :) And while we missed Cade like crazy, we had a great time, my parents enjoyed having him, and he loved staying with them so it all worked out for the best.
Here we are the day we got back (Mother's Day) holding Cade and last year with our Mother's Day gift for my mom. We told her we were having a baby by giving her this onesie as an early Mother's Day gift last year. That seems like yesterday in a way but so long ago in another way. It is weird how that happens.

My 1st school Mother's Day gift
Cade went to his 1st HOG game and met Alex Collins! We met Zach and Ashley at this game and we had a lot of fun! Cade slept most of the time and didn't seem too concerned with the game at all, but he was good as he always is.
And we celebrated our 1st Easter together! Brian and I talked a lot on this day how the previous Easter Cade was not even a thought to us yet. Crazy! Easter was the last holiday we had before finding out I was pregnant in April.

And he tried his 1st baby food this month!! So far he has only had veggies but we haven't found any he doesn't like yet. This boy is definitely an eater! And not a picky one!

4 Months

I have been slacking...AGAIN! Cade is almost 6 months old and here I am doing his 4 and 5 month posts. So here I sit as he naps trying to remember where we were at this point and what new things he was learning so I may forget some things but here are some of my favorite pictures from the 3-4 month mark.
April 17, 2014
We met the Easter bunny at his 4 month check up! And got some new stats: 13 pounds, 4 oz and 24 in long. We were told he is small but healthy, just going to be built like us.

He still loves the mirror.

He has mastered his sad face.
He got a new toy! :) It is so funny now how small he was in it then.
And he found his feet!
We tried baby wearing. This carrier is a little too big, but we later bought one that works better. I just tried this one around the house for some cleaning one day.
And that is about all I can piece together from the 3-4 month mark. The next few months were a whirlwind of exciting new things! I don't think I missed any new things from 3-4 months but the excitement is yet to come. Little guy is growing fast!!

3 Months

Look who's 3 months and chunky!! I don't know your 3 month stats because you did not have a drs appointment this month! I guess you're just so healthy that we got to skip this one! :) According to our scale, you are 12 pounds...which seems about right and would be right on track for your growth.

You have recently discovered yourself in the mirror, the tv, and the ceiling fan. You love all 3 things! You also love to be walked around and talked to. You are a little mess. You do not roll over yet, and HATE tummy time, but you are happy most of the time. You sleep through the night....or so we call it (from about 10-5 most nights) and on weekends will go back to sleep after your 5:00 feeding until 8 or 9.

Brian is afraid I might make him wear these pants to graduation, but I finally made myself
add them to the box of outgrown clothes :(

You LOVE to sit up and look around
Macy finally got a little closer to you. She is finally accepting that you're here to stay.

You wake up so happy in the mornings...when you get to wake up on your own.
Not so much when I have to wake you up.
It finally got warm enough for you to see outside and enjoy the deck
Daddy showed you the yard and where yall will play

And we took you out to 2 restaurants this month. You did so good both times!
