14 Weeks

I have been slacking on my weekly pictures. In fact, I almost didn't get a picture for this week. All my apps say I change weeks every Friday and I took this just in the nick of time...on Thursday...on my way out the door to the Alma Water Park.

I'm currently at 15 weeks, but am going to fill this out according to where I was in the picture.

How Far Along:
14 weeks, 6 days

Size of baby: Lemon

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +1

Maternity Clothes: No-I have 1 pair of maternity pants I wear occasionally just because they are so comfy :)

Gender: We should know in 4 weeks! And I can't wait!
I'm still leaning towards GIRL, but I did have a dream this week that it was a BOY so that kinda threw me off a little. Time will tell.

Movement: I think I felt something this week. I think it is early, but it just felt like little flutters (almost like butterflies) and I would almost swear it was Baby, but I could be wrong.

Sleep: I wake up at 3 am every single night for no apparent reason, and am usually up until 6, also for no apparent reason.

What I miss: Nothing really

Cravings: Anything sweet or fruity! I'm addicted to strawberries and ice cream. My favorite thing this week has been chocolate covered strawberries (Yum!)

Best Moment This Week: Thinking I maybe felt the baby, still not sure though, and getting tons of maternity clothes given to me from Nichole!

Maternity Pants

So last night I put on my first pair of maternity pants. Not that I need them yet, but we were driving to County Line for a game and something about sitting in a car for 40 minutes each way plus sitting through an hour long game in pants that are barely buttoning these days didn't seem appealing. AND I must say I AM IN LOVE! Seriously, why aren't all pants made with an elastic waistband?? That is something I could most certainly get used to. I put on regular pants today, but before we left the house I found myself digging through the dirty clothes to pull out those maternity pants. Shame. I'm not sure I will ever go back to regular pants. Even after the baby is here. Ok, I guess eventually I will have to, but for now no way.

I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet (these were given to me right after I found out I was pregnant by a girl from work), but today I had Brian run me to a resale shop while we were in Fort Smith where I bought 2 more pairs of pants. What's with the jeans though?? All the denim looks insanely not like denim. Maybe that is just what was left in the resale store. But so far, I now have khakis (the ones I have lived in for 2 days now) that can be pants or rolled up into capris, black pants, and grey pants. The girl who gave me these also gave me a few other pairs, but she is so tiny I could barely squeeze into them the day she gave them to me...9 weeks ago. I'm afraid to try now.

On that note, we are going to Texas soon for our anniversary, and Brian is taking me on a maternity shopping spree while there. This was completely his idea, but I could not be more excited!! I am trying to hold off on buying anything until then.

Speaking of buying things, week 1 of the ENVELOPE MONEY SYSTEM was a major success. More so than I had planned on it being. We are cheating when we go to Texas since that will be our only vacation for the year, and putting everything on our credit card that we usually use for everything. I have been a little sad over not using the credit card anymore because it was excellent for Rewards Points. We've had it just over a year and have gotten so many free things out of the Rewards Points. In fact, that is how we paid for our hotel in Texas. We are trying to figure out ways to still earn points even though we are working mostly with cash right now.

Wow, what started off as something short quickly turned into a long, rambly, pictureless post. And while I am rambling we went to a place today that I want to remember for future reference...It is in the old K-Mart and is called Brick (something or another), but they had some amazing things from home decoration stuff to clothes to baby stuff! I was in love. It is all booths and may become my new addiction. Somehow we managed to get out of there without buying anything today, but I will definitely be going back once we find out what we are having. I still suspect girl and if so I am super excited because they had TONS of cute baby girl stuff!

Hello 2nd Trimester

I made it to my 2nd trimester! Well according to most people; BabyCenter says I have another week to go, but I am choosing to ignore them. I have been feeling better for about 3 weeks now as far as the nausea goes, but I was still exhausted all the time until recently. Here are my last 3 weeks of belly pictures:

I feel like the bump looks about the same in all of them, or maybe even a little smaller this week than last week. Life is weird I guess. I am however finally up a pound from where I started on the scale. I somehow lost 2 pounds in the first trimester, but have now gained those back plus 1. I go back to the doctor July 1 for all of my blood work. Fun fun! Then the next appointment we should find out what we are having. I am impatiently waiting for that! I am still leaning towards girl, and Brian is of course still thinking boy. I have been kinda obsessing over the nursery lately and even picked up some paint samples this week so I am excited to get that started once we know!
In other news, we started the envelope system this week to try to be better about our budget in an attempt to save more money than we have been before Baby arrives. So far, it has gone well...since we just started it yesterday :) but hopefully we will stick with it! I think it will really help if we can make ourselves stick to it.

1st Appointment

I had my first doctor's appointment today!! We had to be there at 8 so I picked Brian up from work then we headed over. Everything went great and I was very excited because they did an ultrasound! Here is our first picture of our sweet baby:

It was much clearer on the screen but between the baby moving a lot and Brian making me laugh we couldn't get a really clear shot.

They confirmed that I am 11 weeks, right where I thought I was. And that my due date is December 21, exactly one week after my 26th birthday. We got to hear the heartbeat and it was 167 which they said was good. Overall it was a great first appointment and exciting day!

It was a kinda long morning. We were there until close to 11. Brian and I went to brunch after then I took him back to work. Now I am trying to read up on all the baby stuff they gave me. :)

Baby

Since I found out I was pregnant a lot has gone through my mind. I was ready to grow and feel the baby move and thought about changes to come. But honestly, it is very odd to me that I didn't immediately think that much about the actual baby being here. It was more about growing and things we need to do and finding a good babysitter and my maternity leave and long term sub and the nursery. I thought about things like having it sleep in our room for a while and if I will breastfeed and things of that sort but not so much about just the baby.

I guess there is just so much to think about that my mind has been racing. And you want to make all the right decisions and there are a lot of decisions to be made. Also I immediately got busy reading up on pregnancy related things. Is this normal? Can I eat that? Etc.

But lately I have really been thinking a lot about the baby actually being here and more about the BABY itself than all the things that come with it. What will it be? What will it look like? And I know our lives will completely change for the better forever. We will wonder what we ever did before we had that sweet baby to stare at and take care of all day.

My first appointment is finally tomorrow and I am really hoping my doctor will do an ultrasound. I have heard he doesn't usually do them at the first appointment but I am just dying to get a first glimpse of Baby! Here's to hoping!
