2 Months

My baby boy is 2 months old!! I cannot believe how fast time goes yet how hard it already is to remember life before him. I often wonder what we used to do with all of our time?? Maybe eat a meal together, watch a full show in one sitting, and/or sleep!? :) I wouldn't trade my time with my sweet boy for ANY of those things!
Look how much he has changed:
Crazy difference...he literally doesn't look like the same baby
So what have you been up to Mr. Cade?

Well you had your 1st nap in your crib, for about 1o minutes:
Had to start sleeping on your belly some to try and get rid of a flat bald spot:
Had your first snow outside of Momma's belly:

And started the babysitter: (That was a tough one for me, you didn't seem to mind)
Luckily your babysitter sent me this picture to let me know you were OK :)
Currently you like:
Baths:

Going places in your car seat:
And the stroller:

Talking/Making faces:

We LOVE hearing your stories :)
Cuddling with Momma:
Playing with dad:
And your Rock-n-Play and paci!
You don't like...
-When we don't pay attention to you...which isn't often but happens from time to time when we are both busy.
-Being hungry...even for a second
-When the moving car stops for a moment

You're indifferent about:
Sleep and tummy time:
You like to be asleep but hate when you wake up to realize you are dozing off. And you like to be on your tummy for a bit, but not long. You are getting better though and have even started to sleep on your tummy some...when we lay you down that way already asleep that is :)

Happy 2 months sweet boy! We love you more than we ever knew we could!! :)

My Growing Boy/1st Week Back

Look at that sweet face
My baby boy is growing!! He went to the dr yesterday, and he is now 10 lbs! That makes a breastfeeding momma happy. I constantly worry about him getting enough or if I am producing enough or if I am eating right. You name it, I worry about it. So hearing how much he has gained made me happy and also helped me realize I can chill out a little.
My chunky monnkey
So here are his stats:
Birth: 6lbs 5 oz, 19 in
(5 lbs 15 oz when we left the hospital)
1 Month: 7 lbs 5 oz, 21 1/4 in
2 Months: 10 lbs, 22 1/2 in

He's growing so fast!

This week I went back to work. It was hard to leave him, and I missed spending our days together, but I was happy to see these sweet faces again:
My other babies
And they were all so excited to see me! It feels good to know I was missed. I cannot believe how good they are doing. They're reading so well compared to the beginning of the year. The best thing about teaching 1st grade besides all the sweet lovins you get, is definitely the HUGE growth you can see. It is much easier to see the growth there than in 3rd.
Silly faces
To help me transition this week our family took turns watching Cade. It was nice having him in town with me and getting pictures of him all day long. I dread leaving him here in Greenwood next week, but really think we are going to love our babysitter. She seems like a great person and so sweet! 1 week away from my baby down, 15 to go!

1 Month

Cade- You are 1 month old!! How is that possible?? This has been the best month of our lives. For the most part, you are a very good baby and things have gone smoothly. You have a little bit of reflux which causes you to occasionally become a "monster" as your dad and I like to say, but usually you are pretty content and sweet! And did I mention adorable?? I mean look at these pictures:

Your schedule pretty much goes eat, poop, sleep, repeat. You love to eat! You also enjoy your baths and as of today, your bouncer. You are not a fan of sleep. You fight it pretty hard and are not happy when you realize you dozed off, but with that said, you do sleep well at night once we get through the initial falling asleep part when we first go to bed. You wake up about every 3 hours to eat during the night then fall right back to sleep. I've been bad and put you in our bed. You start the night in your Rock n Play then move to our bed after your first feeding. I know I shouldn't start this especially since you are content sleeping anywhere at night, but I just love sleeping by you!

You have grown and are so alert! You keep us laughing with your expressions and we already love your little personality. At your 1 month appointment you were 7 lbs 4 oz and 21 1/4 in long. Here you are at 2 weeks and 1 month:

What a difference 2 short weeks can make! We love you and you have changed our lives in so many ways...all for the better!
Happy 1 month!! :)

Newborn Days

Cade is almost 1 month old! What a fast wonderful month it has been. Life for us has not been as difficult or as big of a change as I had actually anticipated.
Cade's 1st New Years

He sleeps fairly well. He usually wakes up about every 3 hours to eat and eats for about an hour at a time. Nursing has been much more difficult that I expected, but it is finally getting better.

He is so alert and fun right now. He is awake much more during the day than he initially was. He often has one long nap during the day now and a few short ones, and is awake the majority of the rest of the day. I am dreading leaving him to go back to work.

1st Christmas
He does not like to be cold, but seems to enjoy his baths as long as the water is on him.

1st doctor's appointment
1st time Ma Rube saw him
Cade's 1st outing-Pruitt Christmas Party 12/20/13-3 days old
He LOVES riding in the car and usually falls asleep as soon as we get going.
Christmas Eve

Our new date night consists of ordering food to go and eating in the car while he sleeps in the backseat.
At his 1st outing-Pruitt Christmas Party

1st time Scotti met Cade
Leaving the hospital
All in all, life with a newborn has been pretty amazing so far! BUT I am ready to sleep through a full night again one day. :)
1/11-His favorite face to make

2014

We were truly blessed in 2013. I cannot wait to see what 2014 brings, but here is a look back at things I want to remember from 2013:

January: Made our 1st offer on a house. Luckily got beat to it by another couple earlier that day.
February: Found our house, made an offer, closed, and moved into our very first home as home owners!
March: Brian got a job at Pruitt
April: Found out we were going to be parents! Didn't know what to think...announced a week later.
May: Finished my 3rd year of teaching and last year in 3rd grade...at least for a little while!
June: Had our 1st doctor's appointment. Got to see our baby for the first time, fell in love.
July: Celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. Spent the 4th in Texas. Bought my 1st maternity clothes. Found out we are having a baby BOY!!
August: Started my 4th year of teaching and 1st year of 1st grade.
September: Redid the floors in our home.
October: Celebrated Brian's 25th birthday. Started working on our baby boy's room.
November: Got everything we could possibly need for Cade at our shower. Celebrated 9 years together by going to see our baby in 4d...fell in love all over again when we saw those fat cheeks. Had our last holiday as a couple.
December: Celebrated my 26th birthday. Became parents!! Had our 1st holiday as a family!

It is safe to say that this was the best year of our lives so far. I cannot wait to see what our future holds with our sweet baby boy.
